We firmly believe that the ultimate experts on how to build strong, healthy communities are not found in the conference rooms of think tanks or the podiums of conferences.

OUR TEAM

They are found among the people in our communities, who are rich in ideas, experience, and local knowledge. BAMA puts power and resources in the hands of those who already hold the solutions.

Our local and International Boards ensure funding and support.

Meet The BAMA Foundation Senior Leadership Team and Board in Uganda

  • Dr. Daniel Murokora

    Executive Director

When Dr. Marc and I founded BAMA 20 years ago, we couldn’t even dream of what BAMA is today. The challenges, the growth, the collaborations. We have a long way to go but I am convinced that we are well-equipped to face new challenges and follow our mission.

  • Dr. Eleanor Nakintu

    PROGRAM DIRECTOR

I joined BAMA on a mission: to drastically change and improve the healthcare system in Uganda. As a trained OBGYN, I’ve seen first-hand what needs to be changed. I am proud of our team to be a leading partner for the government.

  • Sr Assumpta Mubiru Nabweteme

    SENIOR MENTOR MIDWIFE

It is an honor to train fellow mentor midwives. Seeing how they gain new knowledge, adapt it to their daily work, share it with their colleagues, and ultimately improve the quality of primary care, motivates me every day.

  • Michael Webba Lwetabe

    MAP COORDINATOR

The Mama and Papa Ambassador Program is the most important initiative to raise awareness among the communities. They are not even aware of why healthcare is important. It’s a mid to long-term process, but we’re on track to fundamentally change mindsets.

  • Prossy Nakayiba

    FINANCE & ADMIN MANAGER

I joined BAMA as one of the first Staff members. I am proud of our growth, not only within the districts and programs but also in our Staff. It’s truly a team effort to keep BAMA running.

  • Richard Kimaka

    MONITORING & EVALUATION MANAGER

It’s quite an unique approach for a Foundation to have real-time data handy at all times. Given the infrastructure in the communities, it’s an ongoing challenge. But it’s worth it to make decisions based on evidence.

  • Vincent Mayiga

    BOARD CHAIR

As the Chair, I oversee organization governance and provide strategic guidance. I ensure the effective implementation of programs to improve mothers' health and well-being. My extensive knowledge and experience in governance have been instrumental in shaping BAMA’s policies and strategies.
